Link Builder

Generate trackable registration links for every channel, campaign, and ambassador

Every time you post "Register now!" with the same link on every platform, you lose the ability to learn from your own campaign. You can't tell whether your Instagram story drove 40 registrations or 4. You can't tell which ambassador is actually delivering. You can't attribute a surge to the WhatsApp blast or to the email campaign that went out the same day.

Trackable links carry embedded data — ambassador codes, coupon codes, and UTM parameters — that the Tikxz system reads when a delegate clicks through. By the time they complete registration, you know exactly which channel, campaign, or person brought them there.

Posting the same link everywhere and wondering why you can't tell what's working is a very solvable problem. It's called UTM parameters. The Link Builder generates them in under a minute.
TypeWhat it doesBest for
PlainStandard registration URL, no trackingOfficial college communications, notice boards
AmbassadorPre-fills ambassador referral code at checkoutGiving ambassadors their personal share link
CouponPre-fills a discount coupon code automaticallySocial media discount drops, email campaigns
ComboPre-fills both ambassador code + coupon codeAmbassador programs with delegate-side discounts
UTMAppends utm_source / utm_medium / utm_campaignChannel-level tracking across any platform

These types are not mutually exclusive by concept — a Combo link can also have UTM parameters, giving you ambassador attribution + coupon tracking + channel analytics all in one link. The Link Builder handles combining these cleanly.

Navigate to Dashboard → Your MUN → Link Builder.

  1. 1

Select a link type from the dropdown.

  2. 2

If Ambassador or Combo: select the ambassador from the dropdown. This pulls directly from your ambassadors list — if the ambassador isn't there yet, create them first.

  3. 3

If Coupon or Combo: select the coupon from the dropdown. Only active coupons appear here — expired or exhausted coupons are excluded.

  4. 4

If UTM: fill in utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign. All three are recommended for clean analytics.

  5. 5

Click Generate. The full URL appears with a one-click copy button.

  6. 6

Share the link on the appropriate channel. The link is permanently stored in your Link Builder history — you can retrieve and copy it again at any time.

Generated links are stored indefinitely under Dashboard → Your MUN → Link Builder → History. You don't need to save them yourself — but do note which link went to which channel so you can interpret the analytics correctly.

UTM parameters — what each field means

UTM parameters are tracking tags appended to URLs. They're a standard used across marketing analytics tools, including Google Analytics. Tikxz reads them to attribute registrations in the Link Performance section of your Analytics dashboard.

ParameterWhat it identifiesExample values
utm_sourceThe platform or publisher where the link appearsinstagram, whatsapp, email, twitter, partner_college
utm_mediumThe marketing channel type or formatsocial, dm, story, email, qr_code, banner, group
utm_campaignThe specific campaign or initiativeearly_bird_2025, ambassador_may, launch_week

Together they give you a three-level hierarchy: source (where), medium (how), campaign (which initiative). A delegate from utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=story&utm_campaign=early_bird came from your Instagram story during the early-bird push — that's actionable intel, not a guess.

  • Use lowercase and underscores consistently — UTM values are case-sensitive in most analytics tools. Instagram and instagram will appear as two separate sources.
  • Include a date or period in campaign names when you run recurring campaigns: early_bird_may2025 is more useful than early_bird six months later.
  • Generate a new link for each distinct placement — don't reuse the same UTM link in two different places.
Channel / PlacementRecommended link typeNotes
Instagram bioUTM (source=instagram, medium=bio)Update for each campaign period
Instagram storyUTM (source=instagram, medium=story)Generate a new link per story for granular data
WhatsApp group blastUTM or Ambassador ComboUse Combo if an ambassador manages the group
Cold DM outreachAmbassador LinkAttribution survives days-later registration
Email newsletterUTM (medium=email)Combine with utm_campaign per email send
Partner college noticeUTM (source=college_name, medium=notice)One link per college for comparison
Printed poster / QR codeUTM (source=poster, medium=qr_code)Include location in campaign: qr_campus_gate
The Link Builder stores every generated link permanently. You can come back three weeks later and see exactly which links were generated, what parameters they carry, and how many registrations each has driven.
